AgentSDR messages over WhatsApp from numbers you link in Unipile. Each number has a status, a warm-up period after linking and its own daily limit for starting new chats. This page covers linking, syncing and the guards that every WhatsApp send passes through.

Before you start

WhatsApp messaging and calling run on your organization’s Unipile connection, the same one LinkedIn uses. Connect it first on Settings → WhatsApp → Integrations. Until it is connected, the Numbers page shows a Connect prompt instead of your numbers. Setup details are in Integrations.
1

Link it in Unipile

In the Unipile dashboard choose Accounts → Connect → WhatsApp and scan the QR code with the phone that owns the number.
2

Open Numbers

In AgentSDR go to Settings → WhatsApp → Numbers.
3

Sync

Click Sync from Unipile. AgentSDR reads the WhatsApp numbers Unipile has and lists them. If Unipile has none yet, the page says so.
Sync reads only WhatsApp accounts, never your LinkedIn ones. A number that Unipile no longer lists is marked Disconnected at the next sync. The first time AgentSDR sees a number connected, it records that moment. The warm-up below counts from it.

What the Numbers page shows

A strip at the top counts your numbers:
  • Connected, out of all linked numbers.
  • Needs attention: numbers that are disconnected, need credentials or report an error. Relink these in Unipile, then sync.
  • Warming up: numbers still inside their warm-up.
  • New chats a day: the total your connected numbers may start per day, with the per-number limit and the gap between sends underneath.
Each number has one of four statuses: Connected, Needs credentials, Disconnected or Error. Only a connected number can send. A number still warming up shows “Warming up until” and the date.
A number that WhatsApp bans also loses its calling. That is why the guards below are enforced by the server, not only by the interface.

Number actions

Open the three-dot menu on a row. By default a message goes out from the number that is already chatting with that person. If there is no such number, it uses the default one.

Set a limit for one number

Choose New chats a day on the number. Enter a value, or leave the field empty to follow the organization’s rule, then click Save limit. Use organization limit clears an override you set before. The allowed range is 1 to 200. The dialog warns you above 25.

The guards

Every WhatsApp send passes through the same checks: replies from the Messages page, CRM replies, message campaigns and call follow-ups. They run on the server under a per-number lock, so two sends at the same moment cannot both slip through. A “new chat” means a number this account has never messaged. Chats the lead started, or that you started from your phone, do not count against the limit. The day is a rolling 24 hours rather than a calendar day, so sending 25 at 23:59 and 25 more at 00:01 is not possible. Other refusals you may see: the number is not connected, the message is empty, or the message is longer than 4096 characters.

Change the defaults

The numbers above are your organization’s Sending rules for WhatsApp, on Settings → WhatsApp → Sending rules:
  • Warm-up after linking a number: 0 to 336 hours. AgentSDR warns below 24.
  • New chats per day, per number: 1 to 200. It warns above 25.
  • Seconds between messages, per number: 3 to 600. It warns below 10.
  • Sending hours for campaigns: any time unless you set hours. These apply to campaigns only, not to messages you send yourself.
A number’s own New chats a day overrides the organization rule. See Sending rules for how rules and overrides combine.
Keep the defaults for the first weeks of a new number. WhatsApp bans numbers that start many chats with people who do not have them saved.

Messages and where they come from

Chats on your linked numbers appear under WhatsApp → Messages. Each message has an origin:
  • lead: the person wrote it.
  • agentsdr: AgentSDR sent it through Unipile.
  • phone: an echo of something you typed on your phone or in WhatsApp Web, which AgentSDR did not send.
A reply from a lead you already know by phone lands in the CRM on a WhatsApp conversation. A message you send from your phone also counts as answering the lead.

Message campaigns

Cold sequences sent from your numbers.

Calling

Place and record WhatsApp calls.

Sending rules

Limits per channel and per account.
